Changes to the event

The sport of fitness is evolving and the Cascade Classic is adapting along with it. In previous years individuals and teams have competed in single day event. This has led to a demanding schedule, placed limited the number of athletes we can serve, and constrained the breadth and depth of our programming. 2019 marks a significant change to the format and The Cascade Classic. Individuals and teams will be competing over two days instead of one, the prize purse tops $30,000, and the changes in our programming will blow your mind. Thanks to you the event has grown tremendously since its inception and this next stage will pave the way for continued growth. The sport of fitness evolving and we are adapting along with it.

We are also adding another division to the team competition. Historically there has been one team division at Cascade that has been roughly in line with the skill and loading of .com workouts. We are adding an intermediate division to the Cascade Classic that will allow any gym to field a team for this event.  Lighter loads, and no advanced gymnastics movements will make this division accessible to just about anyone. No muscle ups, handstand walking, or 135# snatches. In the Rx team division you might see a workout with 225/155# deadlifts and handstand push ups. In the Intermediate division you would see 185/135# deadlifts and hand release push ups. We are striving to serve the largest cross section of our community as possible, and the intermediate team division is our response to this vibrant portion of our fitness community.

Prize money is an alluring aspect of competition and it is often reserved for the individual elite athletes in a given sport. This year we are not only upping the prize purse considerably, we are also spreading the wealth.

This years prize purse is over $30,000 and there are cash prizes for all podium finishers for Elite, Masters 40-49, Masters 50+, and Teams. Also every event winner in in Elite, Team, Masters 40-49, and Masters 50+ will earn $500.

Volunteers make the world go round. Okay, maybe not the whole world, but the Cascade Classic certainly wouldn't work without you. And we appreciate you. A lot. Like a lot a lot.

It’s also a great way to get up close and personal with all the action and the athletes. All volunteers get a special t-shirt and a goody bag.
