Predicting the Top 5 Men:
One sleep away and it’s time to predict our top five men in what we think will be an incredibly tight race this weekend in Seattle.
Post to comments who you think the top 5 will be!
Without further ado:
5th: Taylor Myers
This 25-year-old had a strong 2017 CrossFit Open performance, placing 29th. Though he missed out on qualifying to Regionals this year, he dramatically improved on his 63rd place finish from 2016. He continued to show that he’s on a serious rise this summer in the online qualifier when he placed an impressive second overall.
4th: Mitch Wagner
If you know much about the West region, you probably remember Wagner from the 2016 Regionals. He was on track for a CrossFit Games berth until the final event, where the rope climbs got the best of him and a 35th place finish stopped him from being top 5 overall. In the end, Wagner still finished a solid 9th. Regionals was rougher on him in 2017, so he’ll have something to prove this weekend in Seattle: That he’s still a top contender.
3rd: Kyle Zozaya
This man is one of the best CrossFit athletes in California. He placed 13th at the California Regional this year in what was the tightest points race in the world!
2nd: Joe Silvestri
This guy is always in the thick of things, and he has a solid resume to back it up. With 12th at Regionals in 2016, 4th in the Open in 2017, and 15th at the 2017 West Regionals, money is being placed on him to finish on the podium this weekend.
1st: Sam Kwant
It’s hard to argue about a two-time CrossFit Games athlete who is only 21 years old and still rapidly getting better. This guy is world-class and will run away with it, we think.
